Responding to contemporary socio-ecological crises, the mission of DIGTCOM is to explore and shape digital and green futures through research, practice, and design together with communities, cities, and societies. As a collective, we engage in the central themes of sustainable futures, urban transformations, civic resilience, and cultural and creative practices. Our goal is to contribute novel perspectives, knowledge, and societal impact at local and global levels.

DIGTCOM collaborates with partners across communities, industry, non-profit, and policy. We focus on the responsible design of emerging technologies and data-driven systems by investigating everyday practices in digitisation. This involves algorithmic technologies and automation for energy, urban mobility, and data infrastructures, as well as sites of civic resilience to enable inclusive societies, and the potential of culture and creativity as drivers of sustainable change.

Datafication of Climate Change - Aarhus Conference 2025 Workshop Call

How is the climate crisis mediated by data? The workshop “Datafication of Climate Change: From Prediction to Participation” at the 2025 Aarhus Critical Computing Conference  aims to examine this question. The datafication of climate change refers to the collection, analysis, and representation of data to inform decision-making around strategies for the prevention, mitigation, or adaptation to the impacts of climate change.
