Craft Revitalization Action for Future-proofing the Transition to Innovative Technologies for Sustainable Development - the long version of the project titles already implies its directions and goals: CRAFT-IT4SD strives to activate the rich crafts and creative art heritage nested in the European fashion sector and to renew these traditions through cross-sectoral co-design with immersive digital technologies. It thus aims for the green transition of the Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries (CCSI).
The project was brought to life by DIGTCOM together with different partners from all over Europe a year ago. In July this year, the funding by HORIZON Europe was approved. Everyone is now working towards the official project starting in Aarhus in January 2024.
Eleven partners from seven countries - the project is shaped by cultural diversity, allowing us to take various perspectives on crafts and creative art. This will happen through the arrangement of four pilots during the two-year project period, resulting in ecosystems and communities for learning across fashion and related CCSI. In the end, there will be a playbook of good practices and skills, ready to apply by others.
