Transformative participation: Possibilities and challenges to public participation in green future-making

Presentation during MatchPoints Conference 2025 at Aarhus University on 16 May

Christoph Raetzsch will give a presentation during MatchPoints Conference 2025 at Aarhus University on 16 May. As part of a panel organised by Heather Swanson, Associate Professor in Anthropology, the discussion will address "Transformative participation: Possibilities and challenges to public participation in green future-making". The panel will feature Aarhus Unviersity researchers who study and facilitate new practices of public participation, such as “living labs,” citizen science, and collaborative digital platforms, alongside representatives from active citizen groups.

How are members of the public already participating in the Green Transition in innovative ways? How might public engagement be further encouraged and expanded? And how might decision-making processes be made ever more responsive to a wide range of public ideas? Christoph Raetzsch will give input to the discussion with the title "Infrastructures of Civic Resilience. From feeds to the streets and back again" addressing place-based communicative dimensions of resilience.
