Join us for the SCIS FINAL CONFERENCE A BEGINNING - NOT THE END and a Smart Cities Marketplace matchmaking on November 4 and 5 2020!

The aim of our final conference and the consolidated matchmaking is to (1) get cities from all over Europe interested in collaborative projects, (2) to trigger further (EU) funded projects, (3) to network with interested cities and stakeholders and to create a positive atmosphere among the European stakeholders, and to (4) direct the audience towards the Smart Cities Marketplace as the logical follow-up of SCIS. The event is aligned with the Explore, Shape and Deal elements of the Smart Cities Marketplace to increase synergies and underline the transition to the Smart Cities Marketplace. The final conference is the culmination, highlighting lessons learned, and an end event finalising the roadshows including an outlook on what is coming next.

The conference, held online, includes a public two-day conference with a mixture of plenaries and engaging workshop sessions on several highly relevant topics, an all-day meet and greet with the Smart City Marketplace matchmakers as well as an 30 minute lunch meet and greet with the Action Cluster leaders of the Marketplace. On November 6, a concluding coordinators’ meeting by invite only takes place.

Our sessions will focus on the following topics:

• highlighting lessons learnt and giving a throwback on the Smart Cities Information System
• letting stakeholders know about the resources provided by SCIS and the Smart Cities Marketplace
• providing a platform to discuss some burning issues of smart cities today (post COVID recovery related, funding opportunities)
• giving insights how to stay engaged and on board through the Smart Cities Marketplace
• in line with the theme of the SCIS conference – ‘not an end, but a beginning’, taking the challenge up immediately with providing a matchmaking opportunity
• helping Smart Cities Marketplace stakeholders forward in realizing their projects (the Smart City Marketplace funnel in its most crystallized function).
