Roundtable: Next Gen Smart and Liveable Cities

During this year's InternetWeek we organised a roundtable together with Rambøll and Nordic Edge. The results will be published in a whitepaper

At this year's IWDK we took the advantage of having several smart cities experts around 8 May to have a roundtable session, where the experts discussed relevant topics about the future smart cities. The roundtable was organised in collaboration with Rambøll and Nordic Edge.

See the original description of the event here:

NEXT GEN SMART AND LIVEABLE CITIES: HOW DO WE MOVE FROM VISION TO IMPLEMENTATION IN THE NORDICS?

An inspiring roundtable, exploring how cities are now entering a new phase of 'smart' focused on practical implementation and perceived quality-of-life improvements for residents

Ramboll with Aarhus University and Nordic Edge are hosting this three-hour roundtable with experts present from across both the private and public sector as well as NGO’s and academia. The purpose of the roundtable is to create an informal forum in which stakeholders can take part in a high-level dialogue about ‘smart’ as it relates to solving increasing environmental pressures and infrastructure needs in cities – and growing demands from residents to deliver a better quality of life at a sustainable cost.

The roundtable will be part of the event "Next Generation Internet of Things – A Game Changer for Businesses and Communities". It will start off with a joint opening session and at 14.00 the roundtable discussion will take place at separate tables focused on how smart city solutions can strengthen mobility in cities, air quality, optimise urban planning, create social connectedness and inclusion, sustainable buildings and a number of other key topics.

Based on the take-aways from this roundtable discussion, city surveys and other debates across the Nordics we will summarise findings and recommendations in a white paper which will be presented at Nordic Edge Expo in Stavanger, the largest smart city event in the Nordics, in September 2019.
