The climate crisis is an existential threat to humanity. But as societies and individuals, we’re doing too little too slowly. Existing solutions aren’t being mobilised effectively and at scale. We need even more research and technological development - but also to realise that technology and scientific research cannot solve the climate challenge in isolation. It will also take behavioural changes, incentives, political regulation and perhaps even new institutions. Therefore this challenge requires engagement at every level - from industry, NGOs, and local government to individual behaviour change. MatchPoints 2025 will tackle climate action beyond neutrality, emphasizing collaboration, interdisciplinary approaches and not least innovative strategies for restoring planetary health.
MatchPoints 2025 will among others host researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and civil society representatives, to identify barriers and discuss ways to scale local climate initiatives on a global level. The conference aims to unite research, policy, and practice, transforming scientific insights into practical, impactful solutions that support climate resilience locally and globally. It is a unique opportunity for specialists and non-specialists, scientists and citizens, to work together to explore the challenges – and find paths forward to overcome them. With its interdisciplinary approach, MatchPoints forsters collaboration across sectors and sparkles meaningful discussions that break down traditional boundaries.
