DIGTCOM Centre to host two visiting PhD researchers
The DIGTCOM Centre is pleased to welcome two visiting PhD researchers to the department in early May 2026.
Miray Hamarat Dündar, a PhD candidate in Industrial Design at Istanbul Technical University, Türkiye, will be visiting as a guest researcher from May 4th to May 8th, 2026. Miray is currently conducting her doctoral studies under co-supervision at AU-DIGTCOM.
Oliver Weberg, a PhD student at Halmstad University, Sweden, will also be visiting the centre. Oliver's work draws on design ethnography and community-driven design to examine how mobility systems can be developed to support social resilience. Through sustained engagement with local communities and their community champions, he investigates how everyday practices, lived experiences, and local values can inform inclusive and equitable mobility futures
During their visits, both Miray and Oliver will participate in research activities connected to the centre's P-AIA (Participatory AI for Alternative Sustainable Futures) project, contributing perspectives from their respective fields to its design anthropological exploration of local values, everyday practices, and community-driven futures.
