A Shared Engagement Model for Skills Development in Europe

PACT FOR SKILLS

The Faculty of Arts represents Aarhus University at the Pact for Skills, an initiative launched in 2020 by the European Comission - for enhaning and supporting a shared engagement in skill development.

Companies, workers, national, regional and local authorities, social partners, cross-industry and sectoral organisations, education and training providers, chambers of commerce and employment services all have a key role to play. Thus, the Commission invites public and private organisations to join forces and take concrete action for upskilling and reskilling people in Europe - aiming to support a fair and resilient recovery and deliver on the ambitions of the green and digital transitions and of the EU Industrial and SME strategies. The Pact is the first of the flagship actions under the European Skills Agenda and is firmly anchored in the European Pillar of Social Rights.

KEY PRINCIPLES OF THE CHARTER

  1. Promoting a culture of life-long learning for all

  2. Building strong skills partnerships

  3. Monitoring skills supply/demand and anticipating skills needs

  4. Working against discrimination and for gender equality and equal opportunities

Building on the Pact for Skills, the Creative Pact for Skills Manifestio, or in short C-P4S Manifesto, was formulated - and in this way, the endorsement and support of a large-scale skills partnership for the Cultural and Creative Industry ecosystem. Organised  by various cultural and creative organizations, this process was launched as a bottom-up initiative and maintained from November 2021 to February 2022.

“all the organisations that support the Creative Pact for Skills Manifesto recognise the importance of thriving talents and skilled workers in the European Cultural and Creative Industries ecosystem and all its sectors”

closing statement of the C-P4S Manifesto

The Comission supports the signatories of the Pact with different hubs, such as for networking, knowledge sharing, or guidance for identifying financial possibilities and resource accesses. On top, there are roundtables with industrial ecosystems
Aarhus University, and so we at DIGTCOM, support the initiative of Pact for Skills. Therefore, we are represented as a signatory by Marianne Ping Huang with the Faculty of Arts.
